The main component of the extracellular fluid is the interstitial fluid that bathes our cells. This process is CRUCIAL for optimal cell function. When this process is blocked or not “up to speed” it can create imbalances within our body. Examples of this fluid provides support for our body include:
- Cerebrospinal fluid
- Fluid in the eyes
- Serous fluid in the serous membranes lining body cavities
- Perilymph and endolymph in the inner ear
- Joint fluid
